![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Just to explain, Handbrake cannot yet (it is going to be worked on) interpret or pass through the subtitle format that Blu-ray discs use. If yes, I'll re-try it all tomorrow when I'm not so whacked I guess it didn't work for me because I tried to cut corners was it.? Writing library : libebml v1.0.0 libmatroska v1.0.0įormat settings, Matrix : Default (H.263)Ĭhannel positions : Front: L C R, Surround: L R, LFE Writing application : mkvmerge v4.3.0 ('Escape from the Island') built on 10:30:51 In step 3 you said to import the chapters file in the global tab ( I wasn't sure how to do this part but just browsed for the file created in step 1 in the chapters section towards the bottom of the tab.Īnyway, the long and the short of it was it didn't all completed without any errors but when I played the mkv file in media player classic - the subtitles option was greyed (grayed) out.but here's the mediainfo text on the finished remuxed mkv.Ĭomplete name : Z:\Converted Video\Avatar (2).mkv I've just had a quick try at what you've said but I tried to speed things up by cutting out the shrinking of the video mkv file (step 2) by adding my already converted 9.5gb mkv file to mkvmerge (but deselected the audio within it and used the AC3 audio file I'd created in step 1.) See cap below first off - many thanks for taking the time to reply. Sorry to sound a bit of a thicko here but as I say.I AM a noob to all this pallava  There were loads of other m2ts files in the rip folder but non were subtitles. How should I have done it to get the subs in the main movie m2ts file? When I reloaded the 43gb main movie m2ts file from the rip I checked the 'subtitles' tab of Handbrake and the only thing listed was 'Foreign Audio Search (Bitmap)'.with nothing else in the drop-down box available.įrom the little I know yet about BluRay rips etc, I thought that all the audio/subtitles etc are contained in m2ts files aren't they? The result was a 9.5gb mkv which looks gorgeous too - however - when I checked it out, I noticed there were no subs in the movie. I've decided to do a back up of every disc that I get, but as I don't have a BR burner, I got AnyDVD HD and have ripped it to my HDD and ran the resulting m2ts file through Handbrake. My PC is adjacent to my TV so I bought an LG BR drive and play the film out via HDMI from my GPU (Radeon HD 3850) - and the picture's fantastic! First post here - I've just bought my first BR player and my first disc just HAD to be Avatar.love that film. ![]()
